For some time, I've had a yen to build an antique radio circuit from scratch. And while I have at least two books on building Dorle type twinplex radios, I wanted to build something a little different, and - more importantly - of parts I already have in my junk box. So I built a radio out of the 1934 Official Shortwave Manual (Published by Hugo Gernsback's Short Wave Craft Magazine, and reprinted by Lindsay Publications). Thus far I don't have high-Z phones to test it with, but it shows the characteristic patterns of oscillation on my scope, so I'm encouraged. Pictures follow.
